From Novice to Expert: My Journey as a Mountain Leader

The Path to Making a Difference

Ever since my childhood, I've found myself drawn towards helping others. This intrinsic motivation led me from organizing charity events to volunteering at climbing walls. It was in these moments of service that I discovered my passion - not just for the outdoors but for guiding others in experiencing it.

Climbing: A Stepping Stone to Leadership

My outdoor climbing journey began in 2017, transitioning from indoor bouldering to the majestic cliffs and crags. After attending several beginner and safety courses, I realized that my joy didn't just lie in climbing itself, but in introducing this world to others, especially beginners.

This realization was a turning point. In 2021, I became a certified Rock Climbing Instructor, a milestone that was much more than a professional achievement; it was the embodiment of my desire to inspire and lead.

A Leader Amongst Mountains

The journey didn't stop there. In 2022, I achieved my Mountain Leader Qualification. This wasn't just another credential to me; it was a testament to my commitment to guiding others safely and responsibly in the mountains.

Conclusion

Today, as I lead groups through the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, I see reflections of my past self in many of my clients - eager, curious, and ready to embrace the outdoors. My journey from a novice to a mountain leader is a journey of personal growth, and every step has been about bringing that same growth to others.

In the grandeur of these landscapes, I've found my calling. And in sharing this passion, I hope to guide many more towards their own path of discovery, growth, and fulfillment.
